Peter has been a senior advisor and project lead on multiple Integrated Energy and Climate Master Plans, both at the Community and Site level, and secondary implementation projects. Peter has led the Garforth Team in developing CEPs for the Town of Oakville, Ontario and the City of
Brampton, Ontario, and Residential Energy Efficiency Retrofit Plans for the Town of Newmarket, Ontario and the City of Windsor, Ontario, both being recommendations of their CEP implementation strategies, also developed by the Garforth Team. The Team is involved in other integrated energy master planning projects in Ontario (details confidential), with the goal being the creation of Net Zero / Near-Net Zero neighborhoods and developments.

Peter Garforth is the founder of Garforth International llc. based in Toledo, Ohio, and Brussels, Belgium. He advises major companies, cities, communities, property developers and policy makers on developing competitive approaches that reduce the economic and environmental impact of energy use. Peter has worked on multiple integrated energy master plans throughout the world since 1989.
He has held senior management roles around the world at Honeywell, Landis & Gyr (now Siemens) and, most recently, was Vice-President of Strategy for Owens Corning, the largest U.S. manufacturer of insulation and other materials. In these roles, he was responsible for developing global business strategies, many of which involved starting new business and organizational transformation.
Peter has long been interested in energy and climate productivity as an economic development opportunity and has extensive experience in North America, Western and Eastern Europe, Indonesia, China, Japan, India, Brazil and elsewhere.
Peter holds a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Manchester University, UK. He is a member of the Association of Energy Engineers and CoGen Europe, and a member of the Advisory Boards for WEEC and IETC conferences. Mr. Garforth was the co-chairperson of the International Advisory Committee of the Alliance to Save Energy in Washington, D.C., a founding member of the European Business Council for a Sustainable Energy Future, a member of the Steering Committee on Energy Efficiency Financing of the Russian Federation, and Chairman of the International Institute for Energy Conservation.
