Oliver Baumann has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry and over 10 years’ experience leading and growing his own business in the energy industry.
Oliver Baumann is the founder of a specialist consultancy based in Washington D.C., Chicago, Illinois, and Frankfurt (Germany) which provides consulting services for sustainable and innovative building solutions for the U.S. and international markets. Leveraging strong analytical skills backed by
many years of experience, he serves as an advisory expert to building owners and project teams to advance cutting-edge best practices for high-performance buildings to maximize return on investment. He also serves on teams of expert advisors to guide universities and communities to develop and implement campus-wide and community-wide integrated energy master plans.
Oliver Baumann holds a Dipl-Ing. (M.Sc.) Mechanical Engineering from Technical University of Munich, Germany. He is an ASHRAE certified Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP) and a USGBC LEED-AP. He is an active member of ASHRAE, U.S. Green Building Council, Building Commissioning Association, American Society of Healthcare Engineers and the Association of German Engineers, and has served on various technical committees for ASHRAE and VDI. He has published 20+ peer reviewed articles and presented in more than 50 conferences. From 2001 to 2009, Oliver was actively involved as a subtask leader in the International Energy Agency (IEA) Annex 40 and 47 on Commissioning. Oliver is frequently invited to expert panels on energy efficiency and commissioning and regularly peer-reviews articles and publications.
In 2008, Oliver was a CSE 40 under 40 winner, a recognition of his professional achievements and community engagement. In 2014, Oliver received the MERLIN Award for Outstanding Service Provider from the German American Chamber of Commerce in recognition of exceptional achievements in the German-American business community.
